Like every single mystery “bundle” (which is basically the same scam re-wrapped every few weeks), this is a clear, resounding and unequivocal “no fucking way” from me.

These have really harmed Fanatical’s reputation in my eyes.

NOt sure why people keep expecting these things to be good. Unless you are a brand new collector then of course you are going to find them to be crap. Only decent ones are the Premium ones they do and even then most of the games they throw in their bundle they have on sale very low at the same time so if you arent a new collector its more wise to just buy the games you want. Fanatical’s reputation isnt damaged as they are still the place that usually has the lowest prices for games. Another thing people gotta realize is that they can only put in the games that developers allow them to.

Last time I bought a mystery key from fanatical, the game turned out to be cheaper to buy at *regular* price directly from steam.
These mystery keys are a scam.

Fanatical is a great website, but these “mystery” bundles are like the mystery bundles from shady sites like G2a where the mystery keys are often games no one would ever buy if they were sold separately and it is a way for the developers and fanatical to make a quick buck by selling their garbage games that no one wants. Sometimes you get something good as in like .0000004% chance, but it is like playing the lottery: it isn’t worth it.

I got the previous mystery bundle (the winter bundle), and for reference this is what I got:

* Mighty no 9
* DiRT Rally
* Alchemy Garden
* Night of the Rabbit
* Grim Legends 2: Song of the Dark Swan
* State of Mind
* Nightmares from the Deep 2: The Siren`s Call
* SPACECOM

So basically a mix of games I already have, games I would never even look at, and Might No. 9.

Not the bundle I was hoping to see. Hopefully there will be a Reaper or Killer bundle in the near future, because those have been pretty solid.

For the price there really isn’t anything wrong with the content of the bundles in my opinion. They cost around £4-8…. what are you people really expecting.

So over Christmas I ended up buying 3 bundles after randomly coming across Fanatical for the first time, I bought one and then bought the other 2 using the 5% discount you get when purchasing,

These are the games that I ended up with

>!Toybox Turbos / Chaos on Deponia / AtmaSphere / Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink / Alchemy Garden / SPACECOM / Beat Cop / DiRT Rally 2.0 Game of the Year Edition / Hidden object Bundle 5 in 1 / Still Life!<

So from the first one I was really happy with Beat Cop as it was a game I have wanted for a while but never got round to buying, I was also happy with Dirt Rally GOTY edition and the Hidden object Bundle as I enjoy those types of games so for me, this first pack definitely made me want to get another one.

Second one

>!The Charnel House Trilogy / Richard & Alice / Just Ignore Them / Kane and Lynch: Dead Men / Left in the Dark: No One on Board / F1 2018 / Overlord: Ultimate Evil Collection / Hidden Object Bundle 5 in 1 / Rain of Reflections: Set Free / RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack!<

This one would have been really good but I already had Just Ignore Them and Kane and Lynch. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 though I was really happy with. On a whole though, I do like the look of Rain of Reflections so it has at least given me a new game to try.

Last one

>!Alchemy Garden / Tomb Raider VI: The Angel of Darkness / Sorcery! Part 3 / Goodbye Deponia / STAR WARS – Knights of the Old Republic / Zombie Derby: Pixel Survival / Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart / Still Life / Project CARS – Game Of The Year Edition / Chaos on Deponia!<

Happy with Project Cars, Tomb Raider and Nightmares as it is another hidden object game. Others not too fussed but I will try them at some point. Couple of ones I got before but it is the gamble I guess.

On a whole, was I happy with what I got? Most definitely. Did I think it was worth the £20? Absolutely. I guess it depends on the person but for me, I have no issues with what I got in relation to what I spent

Oddly enough, I play through the cheapy games to see if they’re actually any fun. I’ve found many gems that I never would have naturally found on Steam had I not gambled. I’m good with the whole system. I get how it works and I usually go in thinking I’ve thrown the money away from the get-go. If I pull something good, yay for me. Duplicates I give to friends who can’t afford as many games or to my family (for the point and clicky games).

I’m fairly zen about the results and don’t really understand people who get twisted about it. If you don’t want to get random titles you don’t approve of, buy the same value in Steam wallet dollars and spend on things you want. Easy.

I was new to Fanatical and bought a 2 key bundle for like 2 dollars . Got Moonlighter and Peaky Blinders Mastermind. I wasn’t expecting much but price wise and game score wise I came out like a thief so I’m happy.

Well, my opinion of the mystery bundle is this: they’re great for those new to PC gaming who don’t have a large Steam library of like 500+ games and want some random variety of good games. On the contrary, if you’re one of those who got like 2000+ games and are really searching for specific titles, you’re 1000% better off avoiding the bundle completely. It really depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re the one where you don’t have a lot of games and want to play around with some random games (or want the “surprise me” mentality), it’s a great bundle. Otherwise, you’re better off not buying this.

The mystery bundles aren’t “shady” and they’re a damned good deal. $6 for 10 games isn’t bad, and I’ve gotten several great games from the various mystery bundles I’ve bought. No you won’t get something awesome every time, but you’re usually pretty likely to at least get your money’s worth. You should also treat it like you treat any form of gambling, and only use money you’re okay with losing if you do it. At this point, people who wait for fanatical to make these posts just so they can shit all over the threads look like idiots. If you don’t think it’s worth the risk, then don’t do it, but they aren’t ripping anyone off with these deals.

I do these every once in a while. Typically when they do the spend 10$ and get one of these free game type things, and I already happen to be buying another bundle. Usually a disappointment.

Only once or twice have I gotten anything really interesting to me in them. Often I’ll already have it. At some point I’ll have to throw a big giveaway of dupes and stuff.

I refuse to buy their bundles now too. I still check to see if their star deals matter to me at the moment…they rarely do. Complete waste of money(except for the first time when you have like…no steam keys).

* No Time To Explain Remastered
* Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes
* Not The Robots
* Bridge Constructor Stunts

They must be having a ton of trouble getting devs onboard to bundle anything, wouldn’t be surprised if these mystery scam bundles are the only thing making them any money at this point….all their other bundles are currently rehash junk or 3 for 9.99, 5 for 14.99, 7 for 19.99 which is too expensive to even be called a bundle. Bundles seem on the path to dying out altogether besides humble choice it’s been trending that way the last year. Fanatical put out maybe 5 good bundles last year.

* Razerwire:Nanowars
* Runner3
* STASIS
* This War of Mine
* THOTH

Here’s the games I got, and what the reviews say and what the cheapest steam price has been for it in the last 12 months.

140 – Good / £0.79

Ballpoint Universe Infinite – Okay / £2.79

Blood: Fresh Supply – Great / £2.59

Bridge Constructor Stunts – Poor / £2.09

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days – Poor / £0.79

Kane and Lynch: Dead Men – Poor / £0.69

Lunar Flight – Good / £5.49

Tharsis – Okay / £1.09

The Light Keeps Us Safe – Good / £2.99

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong – Good / £2.99

So in total if I had got these at their cheapest sale price on steam in the past year they would have cost me £22.30, whereas the Mystery Menace Bundle cost me £5.89 using the 5% voucher I got with the last bundle.

So not bad value. though I already got Ballpoint Universe & The Light Keeps Us Safe in Megabundle 2 for essentially 14p each.

Does it ever happen to you to tell yourself “if my team wins the match, i buy a mystery bundle” ? Well, i did tonight. Along with the Killer Bundle 15 and 5 games in the Pick & Mix, i got :

* Bridge Constructor Stunts
* Children of Morta
* Hermes: Rescue Mission
* Laserlife
* Lunar Flight
* Moonlighter
* Pizza Express
* SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell
* Sir, You Are Being Hunted
* STASIS

And in the wheel, a 1€ coupon and :

* When Ski Lifts Go Wrong
* Days of War: Definitive Edition

(i was one millimeter to the 250$ spree)

All this is for trade, along with [those](https://www.reddit.com/r/indiegameswap/comments/lm6rao/h_various_humblefanaticalindiegala_games_w/).

I’ve been looking for Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition in the Mystery Bundle, i’d like this one particularly, i can do 2 for one, depending on what you choose.
